Cathy Alvey, CPA joined the Med Associates family of companies in 1997. Prior, she was CFO of MedClaim USA, Manager of Financial Reporting for both APA Partners and Partners Health Plan, and Senior Associate at Coopers & Lybrand, LLP.
Cathy’s experience as a CPA provided an edge to Med Associates, and by focusing her energies on developing and improving products and services, Cathy helped them to create a unique value proposition both for the organization and their clients.
As President of Med Associates. Cathy oversaw all aspects of financial management, accounting, daily operations, and human resources. In 2020 she was instrumental in identifying an ideal merger opportunity with UnisLink, one that would allow the continued growth and success of Med Associate’s business model in an increasingly complex healthcare environment.
After helping to facilitate the merger’s success in 2021, Cathy is continuing as Regional Director for UnisLink’s Latham, NY operations. Leveraging the enhanced capabilities enabled through the merger, Cathy provides practices with needed expertise in internal controls, financial planning, and practice transformation.
Cathy holds a BBA in Accounting from Siena College and an MBA from the University of Albany. She is a Certified Public Accountant and an active member of NYMGMA, HBMA, and the NYSSCPA. She volunteers her time on the HBMA Finance Committee and the Shaker High School Booster Club Board.
